Happy 4th of July! Looks like we're going to see a pretty nice day across Acadiana, although a few afternoon storms may pop up over the far western sections and areas along the coast where an old frontal boundary is fizzling out. Temperatures are to remain quite hot all weekend long.
Hurricane Arthur continues to hold near the North Carolina coastline. It made landfall and is now turning toward the northeast away from the coast. Watches and warnings are now posted for areas near Cape Cod as the hurricane will be moving quickly in that direction. It should be through Canada and into the north Atlantic before the weekend is over.
Temperatures will be in the low 90s again today, and overnight lows in the low to mid 70s. More of the same is expected for Saturday and Sunday. Typical summer weather continues next week with hot and humid conditions with a few afternoon storms.
