Honor a Veteran with a Commemorative Brick

You can recognize the service and sacrifice of a veteran in your family by purchasing a commemorative brick in the Carencro Veterans Memorial, to be constructed in 2014. Bricks are $100 each and may be purchased online, or by mail or in person.

The bricks, engraved with your veteran's name, rank and military branch, and time of service, will be laid in a memorial adjacent to Carencro City Hall.

The design also includes 16 black granite "soldiers" -- pylons bearing the names of local veterans killed in action (KIA). There is no cost to honor a KIA veteran on these granite pylons, and we are collecting names for these soldiers. If you know of a Carencro veteran who was killed in action, email or call us at 337.896.8481 with the name and service information.

Three existing flagpoles at the site will remain and will be integrated into the memorial, which has been designed by Lynn Guidry Architect. Granite benches and landscaping will be added to provide a restful atmosphere for visitors to the memorial. The target completion date is in the summer or fall of 2014. The design allows for future expansion, in phases.
In addition to commemorative bricks, individuals and businesses may contribute to the memorial as a sponsor. Email or call 337.896.8481 for sponsorship details.
