Independence Day, in my opinion, is the epitome of the summer. A great reason to get together with friends, fire up the grill, and do what ever you can to try and stay cool. It is one of those holidays that you just hope for agreeable weather.
This year the weather seems to be on our side. Although humidity will be slightly higher then these last few days, we're still under the influence of drier air. Temperatures will be in the low 90s Thursday with a heat index running only a few degrees warmer and staying out of the triple digits.
Skies will be staying mostly clear, but don't rule out a few afternoon showers. Shower activity will be fairly isolated and not long lasting. The majority of the wet weather will stay close to the coast with a few storms possibly moving north just passed I-10.
There are some big changes on the way, however, with wet conditions expected for the weekend. Some tropical moisture will move in bumping up rain chances for the end of the week, and Saturday in particular.
