Historic preservation expert to speak Sunday in NO

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A National Park Service expert in historic preservation will make a free presentation Sunday about advances in historic preservation with a special focus on New Orleans.

Kirk A. Cordell has been head of the park service's National Center for Preservation Technology and Training in Natchitoches since 2002.

The speech will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Historic New Orleans Collection's Williams Research Center, at 410 Chartres Street in New Orleans' French Quarter.

The title of his presentation is "Preservation in the 21st Century: How Technology is Reshaping the Management of Historic Resources."
