Formal charges have now been filed against the top brass at the Henderson Police Department over an alleged ticket-quota.
According to Assistant District Attorney Chester Cedars, Chief of Police Leroy Guidry and his deputy chief Mack Lloyd are each charged with public payroll fraud (one count), filing false public records (one count), and malfeasance in office (one count).
The charges came about after an investigation last year by the Inspector General's Office concerning the department's speed patrols along I-10. According to court records, authorities allege a system was in place, which tied an officer's pay to the number of tickets issued.
A third man who worked part-time with the department is also facing charges. Randy Trahan is charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
The three defendants are expected to be arraigned on August 12th.
