The St. Peter School Grandmas Club is the brainchild of Cindy Benoit and Dolores Saal, who founded the club in 2010 as a means to thwart the potential closure of their beloved school. With the encouragement of Father Jason Vidrine, then pastor of the school as a supplement to the efforts of parents of SPS students, who faced a possible shut-down of the school because of low enrollment and tuition changes.
New grandmas joined the club and the organizaion is beginning to have a real impact. Contributing grandmas include: Reneé Hebert, Leona Hebert, Betty Roy, Mary Simon, Bonnie Sarver, Anna Lea Saltzman, Lisa Guidry, Jean Istre, Bernice Suire and Cindy Johnson.
