Girl Scouts clothes drive

Girl Scout Troop SU 208 (7 and 8 year old girls)from Lafayette has organized a clothes drive to help out their sister Girl Scout.

A fire broke out in the girl's home just before 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Wildflower Lane Thanksgiving night.

According to investigators, heat and/or a spark ignited the fire inside the fireplace stack above the roof. Firefighters from four departments responded and put out the fire quickly.

The home's residents and a visitor were inside the home at the time, but they all escaped without injury. The home suffered minor to moderate damage.

The scout is in need of clothes. She wears a size 7 and in shoes a size 1. Donations can be dropped off at Comeaux Rec Center, 411 West Bluebird Drive, Lafayette on Wednesday, December 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, December 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
