A big traffic jam around the Cajundome Friday night, as two of country's biggest stars, George Strait and Martina McBride took to the stage. It was not only a big night for fans, but for George himself, as it was his first performance of his new tour "Here for a Good Time."
For a star as big as George Strait, you're going to have some pretty big fans.
"My first concert was September 27, 1997, and I've been to every Louisiana appearance since," said Shannon Gill.
"We've seen him probably about 48 times in my life," said Julie Bradley. Her friend Sandy Sagrere added, "Me I'm going on my tenth time, I started following him with her."
Seeing two of the biggest country stars live in concert was a pretty big deal for some, especially Kyle Thibodeaux.
"I'm just dressed up this is the biggest event of my life I've never been to no big concert like this, you know, it's pretty cool," he said.
We even found a few birthday girls celebrating with family, and George of course.
"Tomorrow is my birthday and this is part of my birthday present," said Gill.
"It's my birthday week and they're taking me to see this," Whitlea Cormier said. Her brother, Thibodeaux, and her cousin brought her as a gift.
And as for friends Bradley and Sagrere, one night just wasn't enough. They're heading to Bossier City tomorrow night to see the show again, saying "We are pumped up... Whoo!"
