Funeral Services Set for Lafayette Soldier Killed in Afghanistan

Funeral services have been set for SPC. Steven Dupont (left), the Lafayette soldier killed last week in Afghanistan.  Dupont's family will receive guests at Martin & Castille Southside location (600 E. Farrel Rd.) Tuesday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. At St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton.  Before Wednesday's funeral mass, the family will receive guests at Martin & Castille Southside location from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m.

The public will also have a chance to pay their respects, as the funeral procession makes it's way to the church.  The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.   It will turn right on E. Farrel, turn left on Verot School Road head  North/Northeast to Digby Ave., Turn left on Digby Ave. , Turn Right on Bluebird and make the complete circle around the Comeaux High School Campus, ( Where Students and Faculty will line the procession route to pay tribute), the procession will exit on Digby Ave. and head to Verot School Rd and will turn right and head south, Down Verot School Rd to Hwy. 92 (Aka. Milton Ave.), turn right on Hwy. 92 and head to Milton where it will end at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton.

Full Military Honors will be presented by FT. Polk Army Honor Guard at the burial which will held adjacent to the church in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
