The Christmas parade and lamp-lighting ceremony are Saturday, December 7, 2013. Line-up for the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Jackson Street, and the parade will begin at 6 p.m. on the corner of Jackson and Main Streets.
The City of Franklin invites all schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and social groups to participate in the Christmas parade. So far, St. John Elementary and Franklin Senior High School are the only schools in St. Mary Parish that have entered the Christmas parade. "Other schools don't want to be left out. This is a good opportunity to show some school spirit and to support your parish. Also, this a time that the community should come together and for these groups to be on display during the season of giving and to take a bow for all they do for our community," said Mayor Raymond Harris.
Schools, churches, nonprofit organizations and social groups that would like to participate in this year's Christmas parade and lamp-lighting ceremony should contact the Office of Community Development at 337-828-6345 or email@example.com. When you contact the Office of Community Development, please provide your contact information.
