The Patrick Williamson Memorial Foundation was established in honor of Patrick Williamson. Born in Broussard, La., Patrick Williamson was an alumnus of St. Cecilia School as well as St. Thomas More High School. As an adult, Patrick was extremely patriotic with a high sense of adventure. He was a mechanical engineering major at University of Louisiana for two years before answering his life's calling. His decision to serve in the United States Army came as no surprise to anyone who knew him. He enlisted in August 2006 and deployed to Afghanistan in July 2009, where he proudly supported Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division. On October 27, 2009, Patrick was killed in the Arghandab Valley, Afghanistan when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED).
