Upgrades for the communications and fleet services divisions are underway for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office.
The fleet has been gradually modernized with the most recent additions being fifteen 2010 dodge charger police package cruisers. These new units join the existing light and heavy duty vehicles, each tasked to specific applications for which they are best suited.
Sheriff Bobby Guidroz recognized the critical nature of these support units in ensuring rapid response times in a geographically large parish and made upgrades to both fleet and communications services a top priority of his new administration.
St. Landry Parish occupies an area of approximately 939 square miles and is networked by over 800 miles of rural farm-to-market roads in addition to hundreds of miles of state and federal highways.
