Eunice voters have given their city government the okay to rededicate some sales tax funds to an emergency fund.
Three-quarters of voters approved the measure, which would allow the city to move up to 10% of sales tax money collected in the city, or approximately $200,000 per year, to a fund to pay for unbudgeted emergencies that may arise.
The final vote tally was 281 votes for and 94 votes against. The Secretary of State's Office says only 5.6% of eligible voters participated in this election.
