Damien Guidry, the suspect who escaped from Welsh police custody, has been caught. He appeared in the federal courthouse today in jeans, a white shirt, and handcuffs. KATC's Chris Welty was asked to leave the courtroom because officials say the case is sealed. We do not know what other charges he is facing, what federal warrants are out for him, or what agency is investigating him. We were told he turned himself in to federal marshals today, and the U.S. Attorney's Office wants to keep him detained because they consider him a flight risk. The judge presiding over the case is C. Michael Hill. Guidry escaped from the Welsh Police Department on June 19th after a police officer turned his back during processing.
