A toxicology sample taken from 18-year-old Kennedy Renee Isaac, of Elton, indicated she was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash that killed Shelby Christine Granger.
Isaac's blood alcohol content at the time of the crash was .05 percent. The legal limit for drivers under the age of 21 in Louisiana is .02 percent. A warrant was issued for Isaac's arrest and she was given the opportunity to turn herself in.
On June 14, 2013, Isaac turned herself in at Louisiana State Police Troop D in Lake Charles. Troopers transported Isaac to the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center where she was booked for vehicular homicide, first degree vehicular negligent injuring, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to wear a seatbelt. Bond was set at $25,000.
If convicted, Isaac faces up to 35 years in prison and a fine of up to $18,025.
