Drier/Less Humid Weather on the Way

A weak frontal trough will sweep across Acadiana Tuesday night helping to usher drier more comfortable conditions over the next couple of days.

Mostly sunny skies are expected for our Wednesday as temperatures still top out near the lower 90s. Humidity will become more tolerable throughout the day but it will feel best Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Look for lows to drop into the mid-upper 60s Thursday and perhaps for Friday morning.

Mostly sunny and warm conditions are expected for the rest of the week with highs topping out near 90.

A return flow from the Gulf of Mexico will occur this weekend leading to more clouds, higher humidity and perhaps a few showers by Sunday.

Best rain chances over the next week should come next Monday with hopefully a stronger (but short-lived) cool front.

On this anniversary of Hurricane Rita of 2005 the tropics remain incredibly quiet. Climatologically speaking the risk of big storms in the Gulf drops dramatically after the first week or two of October....fingers remained crossed!
