The ferry that crosses the Mississippi River between Scarsdale and Belle Chasse in Plaquemines Parish will shut down for dock repairs beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
Plaquemines Parish authorities say service is expected to resume at 5 a.m. on Sept. 22.
The dock at the east bank ferry landing will be repaired during the closure.
While the Scarsdale-Belle Chasse ferry is out of service, the ferry at Pointe-a-la-Hache will operate until 11:30 p.m. each night.
