Detectives investigating a residential burglary have issued a warrant for the arrest of Charles Berger, 24, of Bayou Vista.
According to police, Berger is wanted for breaking through the window of a home on Delmar Street in Bayou Vista on March 28. Berger and Caleb Gros both allegedly entered the victim's home and then fled the residence when the homeowner returned. Approximately $150 in cash was missing from the residence following the incident, said police.
Detectives obtained and carried out a search warrants for Gros' residence on Sun Road and Berger's residence on Clements Lane. During both searches, detectives located additional evidence linking Gros and Berger to the burglary. Gros, 17, was located at his residence and arrested Friday. He is charged with simple burglary and on a warrant for drug charges stemming from a previous narcotics investigation. Berger was not present at the time of the search of his residence. Berger is wanted on a warrant for simple burglary.
