Dance master class with Blakeley White-McGuire

The School of Music and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will offer a free dance master class with Blakeley White-McGuire.

Currently Principal dancer with the internationally renowned Martha Graham Dance Company, the south Louisiana native has been lauded by the New York Times as a dancer of "powerful technique, dramatic instinct and an appealing modern spunk."

As an educator, she has served on the faculties of the Ailey School and the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance.

The class will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 in the James Devin Moncus Theatre at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.

White-McGuire will lead the class as part of her residency at the University, where she will restage her dance work Woman for the UL Lafayette State of LA Danse concert Nov. 14-17.
