As much of the nation gets ready to dig out of the snow, some children in Crowley are enjoying a winter blast of their own. A winter wonderland was created for one man's kids after he saw a viral video online. Miles Frank saw videos of boiling water thrown into freezing air and thought he could do it on an iceberg size scale.
"I started looking online how to make snow and a few websites popped up showing you how to do it. They had plans and everything so I just decided to put it together for the kids," Frank said.
It's a homemade snow-maker. Frank says running it overnight accumulated four inches of snow in the yard Some spots had as many as eight. The kids woke up Tuesday morning to snow in the front yard. After school cold shoulders turned and the snowball fight was on between the boys and the girls. The girls adamantly claimed they won the fight, but the boys had other plans in mind.
"The best part is riding a bike. Trying to jump out here with a bike in the snow," Samuel Privat said.
The snow turned into a spectacle as passersby caught a drift of it and came by to check out the real life snow globe. As for doing this again, Frank says there may be no way to top this.
"They'll remember that forever. The day they played in the snow in Crowley.
