BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police arrested a married couple accused of stealing utilities and leaving seven children unattended while out buying groceries on July 4.
The Advocate reports 39-year-old Eddie Robinson and 31-year-old June Robinson each were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on seven counts of child desertion and two counts of theft of utilities.
Police responded to a 911 hang-up call at the couple's home Thursday and found seven children between 4 months and 10 years of age without adult supervision.
About an hour later, police say Eddie and June Robinson returned to the home.
It was unclear whether the Robinsons have an attorney.
