Tonight, a "Coup de Main", or helping hand for those who need it most.
It's a fundraiser called "Coup de Main", featuring some big names to help an even bigger cause.
Plenty of cheers for the musical acts in Downtown Lafayette.
Geno Delafose, Keith Frank, Feufollet, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys all took part in this year's fundraiser at Parc International.
All of the proceeds of Thursday's event are going to a St. Landry Parish organization, which helps give the homeless a place to call home.
When you step through the doors of the Opelousas Lighthouse Mission, the staff hopes you can one day walk out a new person.
"Anybody that knocks on that door, anything we can possibly do for them we do it.", says supports staff member Donald Adams.
The non-profit not only provides shelter and food, but the opportunity for the homeless to become working members of society.
"It's more than just a mission in and out and getting fed everyday. It's like a program where you come in and get dedicated to getting your life straight, staying off drugs, and really reforming your whole life to getting back to your own housing", says Christopher Weaver.
He was once homeless himself, but now lives and works at the shelter.
He says the mission, and Opelousas as whole, have become a family to those less fortunate.
"They make friends with you. Lifelong friends. I left last year to go to Texas to help the homeless for a summer, and then I called and Johnny said, "Come back. I'll buy you a bus ticket. I want you back", says Weaver.
The organization focuses on personal responsibility and accountability, and Weaver says he couldn't be happier with the place he now calls home.
"Here I am, I'm broke, I quit a job and then I was sick, and then I was homeless, and I'm thinking, "Well God's always helped me and I'm broke." And then I meet this mission and God made a way", says Weaver.
Organizers say over 500 people turned out to show their support, and say through different charitable contributions, that they've raised close to $10,000 for the Lighthouse Mission.
