The Biology and Environmental Science Classes at Assembly Christian School in New Iberia have been a part of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) "Native Fish in the Classroom" Program. They recently hatched around 100 Paddlefish Eggs in an aquatic incubator inside of their classroom. They have a homemade fish tank in the classroom that the Paddlefish now live in. The aquarium is like a "Biome on Wheels". The students conduct daily water quality tests to ensure that the water is safe for the Paddlefish. On Monday, April 7th, they released the fish into the Atchafalaya Basin.
