Turns out Saint Joseph's Catholic church was designed by a famous architect, A. Hays Town. Town was born in Vermillion Parish, and designed St. Joseph's in the 1960's.
The church never completed town's original design because they ran out of money, but church councilman Billy Guidry, found original blueprints.
"I knew once you walked into the church that something wasn't right. the ceiling was just a flat suspended ceiling, and it was just left undone," says Guidry.
The church will hold its first service in the renovated sanctuary this Saturday.
