Tropical Storm Chantal is still a storm according to the National Hurricane Center. Earlier Chantal was dealing with some strong upper level winds over the eastern Caribbean. Most of the convection had dropped off this morning, but storms are redeveloping around the center. Recon aircraft earlier had a very hard time pinpointing a closed center, but another run today confirms it is still a tropical storm.
The track forecast is a bit west of the earlier run, but most of the influence from Chantal will be felt over Cuba, the Bahamas, and Florida later this week.
