Central La promotion aimed at tourists, home folks

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - The manager of the T.R.E.E. House Children's Museum in Alexandria says anyone who says there's nothing to do in central Louisiana isn't looking hard enough. Kara Edwards says there are tons of places to visit and things to do.

The Town Talk reports that an annual campaign to help people find those places is under way.

It's the sixth "Close to Home" ad campaign for the Alexandria/Pineville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Executive Director Sherry Smith-Ellington says the campaign has three purposes - to let tourists know there's plenty to do in the area, to let people in the community know the same thing, and to increase membership in the Central Louisiana Attractions Association.
