CAUGHT ON TAPE: Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery

Police asking for help from the public in solving an attempted robbery.

According to police, this morning at 7:30 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to an attempted armed robbery at a bank in the 2800 Block of Moss Street. The victims arrived at the business in a vehicle and parked on the parking lot. The victims then noticed the suspect hiding near the building and immediately drove-off, according to Sgt. Kyle Soirez. The suspect chased the vehicle on foot while brandishing a firearm.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt and dark pants.

Lafayette Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
