Cancero Fatal: Pedestrian hit on University

Unable to identify the white female victim. The deceased is only identified as a white female possibly in her 40's wearing navy blue sweat pants, navy blue zip up hooded jacket with white collar inlay and white inlet sleeves with red Christmas style socks. Anyone with any information which can lead to the identity of the victim is asked to contact the Carencro Police Department @ 337-896-6132.


On December 04, 2009 at approximately 0220 hours officers with the Carencro City Police Department were dispatched to the 3300 block of North University Avenue in reference to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon arrival officers learned that a vehicle being driven South on University Avenue struck a pedestrian who was crossing or walking in the roadway. The pedestrian who was struck was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigation it was learned that the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages prior to being involved in the crash.

A chemical test of the driver revealed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

The driver identified as Brad Brock W/M 33 years of age who resides in the 800 block of Clarence Cormier Road in Carencro, La. was arrested for Operating a vehicle while intoxicated and Vehicular homicide.

The pedestrian had no identification and she is only being identified as a white female unknown age. Investigators are in the process of trying to identify the deceased. When identification is made we will forward that information.

University Avenue has been reopened to normal vehicle travel.
