Call For Support Gets Answered

The story of an elderly Lafayette woman having to tough it out through the cold touched the hearts of many in Acadiana.

Emails and calls came pouring in.

Many people made a donation at the Cajun Area Agency on Aging.

"Lady living in a trailer busted windows and it's going to be 18 degrees and what i just saw just now they need it," says Nick Dupre.
The once dwindling supply is now replenished thanks to community members dropping off donations there's now a stockpile of heaters, blankets, and even a snuggie.

Irby is one of many in Acadiana who struggle through a harsh winter.

Many more like her will benefit from this community support.

But donations are still needed at the Cajun Area Agency on Aging.

They hope to see more than just a one-day rush of support.
Thanks to a huge response from viewers, Claudie Irby is having her windows and doors repaired.

She says she's not used to having people help her, but the support  people are showing brings her to tears.

She sends a big thank you to everyone for caring.
