Cajuns, Hilltoppers Pegged For National TV Broadcast

NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team will play before a national television audience later this month when the Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday that the Cajuns' home contest on Saturday, January 25 against WKU will be televised live on ESPN or ESPN2.

Tipoff for the game is scheduled for 3 p.m. CST.

The game between Louisiana and WKU is being promoted as a "White Out" game with the first 1,000 UL students receiving a t-shirt, compliments of 103.7 The Game and Pepsi. The three-time R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl champion Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team, led by head coach Mark Hudspeth, will also be honored during the game.

The Cajuns, 9-5 overall on the season, and are led by the tandem of Shawn Long (21.5 ppg., 11.1 rpg.) and Elfrid Payton (20.7 ppg., 5.8 rpg., 6.0 apg.) - the only NCAA duo to average 20 points per game. The preseason All-Sun Belt first-team selections have helped the Cajuns to a 6-0 record at home, plus road wins against Louisiana Tech and Coastal Carolina.

WKU (10-5, 2-0), the preseason pick by the league coaches to win the Sun Belt, is led by Slidell native (Salmen HS) and preseason All-Sun Belt First-Team selection T.J. Price (16.7 ppg, 4.2 rpg), along with preseason second-team pick George Fant (13.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg).
