Demolition work is now underway over at Cajun Field.
Earlier today, crews began removing trees and flagpoles from the south hill of the stadium. The Cajun Field expansion is all part of the UL master plan.
UL Lafayette's football stadium, will receive an additional 5,900 seats as part of a newly-enclosed end zone and new visitor's locker room. The new 70,000-square-foot athletics practice facility will serve as an extension of the existing Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility as a training center for all sports, with enhanced weight and locker rooms, administrative and coaches' offices, hydrotherapy and training rooms. The new track and soccer facility will include office spaces, locker rooms, equipment storage and updated press facilities.
The project is multi-phased, with stadium expansions and improvements set to be completed in the fall of 2014. Remaining components are scheduled to be delivered in mid-2015.
