A Breaux Bridge man is in jail on a charge of attempted murder after an employee at a Lafayette hospital reported the severe beating of a patient from St. Martin Parish.
According to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, a call was received Tuesday from staff at Lafayette General Hospital about a female they treated who they say was severely beaten in St. Martin Parish.
According to the SMPSO, the victim received great bodily injury and her condition was listed as critical.
