BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board has postponed until next week selecting semifinalists from the pool of 43 candidates vying for the position of superintendent.
School Board President Barbara Freiberg said at Thursday night's executive session that PROACT, the search firm hired by the board, had recommended 15 of the applicants as semifinalists.
Freiberg said she would have accepted that list, but some board members wanted more time to review all of the applicants before making a decision.
PROACT on Tuesday released a list of 43 applicants seeking to replace current Superintendent John Dilworth, who plans to leave June 30 when his current three-year contract expires.
