On May 31, 2014, around 10:45 p.m. search and rescue teams with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office were notified about a man who fell overboard, into Lake Charles, and did not resurface.
When search teams arrived at Lake Charles, they learned that George Dixon Jr., 45, of Lake Charles (the city), was onboard a 35 foot Cabin Cruiser when he fell overboard without a personal flotation device.
In a joint effort LDWF and CPSO recovered the body of a Dixon at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014 from Lake Charles.
The Calcasieu Parish Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
LDWF is investigating the boating incident.
