Update to the body found in Bayou Teche: authorities have confirmed that the body of 50-year-old Abraham doucet of New Iberia was found floating in Bayou Teche by a tug boat captain. Officials also do not suspect foul play at this time.
According to Sheriff Ackal a relative of the victim, said to be the sister, did identify the body as her brother. The Sheriff said that the sister mentioned that he was last seen by family members on Friday and was reported missing on Saturday. There is no further information concerning this story at this time until a complete autopsy has been preformed.

Authorities in New Iberia are presently working a scene near a boat landing where a body was found.
At this time KATC can confirm that the body was found floating in Bayou Teche behind the Sheriff's Patrol Center. Officials have not ruled this incident as a homicide and suspect that the victim may be a missing person, but they are not confirming anything just yet until a coroner's report is complete.
