Atlanta radio hosts suspended after making fun of Steven Gleason

The host of an Atlanta radio station has been suspended after the show made fun of former New Orleans Saints safety Steve Gleason.

The "Mayhem in the AM show" pretended to have Gleason call in and speak to the hosts with his computerized voice.
Because Gleason lost the ability to speak because of ALS, he uses a computer to communicate.

Those speaking out after hearing the program say it included a 3 minute joke where they pretended that Steve Gleason called in, and most of his responses were in the form of knock knock jokes. At one point the fake Gleason allegedly said he doesn't know if he will be alive next Thursday.

The radio station issued this statement on their Facebook page: "We deeply regret the comments made by Mayhem In The AM this morning on 790 The Zone regarding former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason. 790 The Zone, Lincoln Financial Media, our sponsors and partners in no way endorse or support the unfortunate and offensive commentary concerning Mr. Gleason this morning. The members of the show involved with this incident have been suspended indefinitely pending further management review of their actions."
