Asbury Church presents 'The Story of Elijah'

On Sunday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m., the 60 voice Asbury Choir and 35 piece orchestra of Asbury United Methodist Church will present Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah in the Asbury sanctuary.

Dr. Lee Cooke will conduct the performance and Shawn Roy, UL Professor of Voice and Director of the Opera Program, will sing the part of Elijah. Dr. Paul Baker, Headmaster for the Episcopal School of Acadiana and Asbury's organist, will sing the part of Obadiah. Other soloists include Lindsay Finley, Oliver Guillotte, Margaret-Ann Harmon, John Kolwe and Cori Webre.

This musical presentation is free and open to the public.

Asbury is located on Johnston St. in Lafayette, at the corner of Johnston and Live
Oak Blvd. The sanctuary is on the corner of Live Oak and Bel Ann Dr.
