Hurricane Arthur is becoming more powerful this morning with winds now at 80mph. Further strengthening is forecast for the next two days. Arthur is now located at 31.8N and 78.7W or about 300 miles SW of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. It's drifting toward the NNE at 9 mph. Hurricane Warnings are posted for most of the North Carolina coastline. Hurricane Watch is posted for parts of the South Carolina coast and a Tropical Storm Warning is up for the extreme southeastern coast of Virginia.
A new forecast track and intensity forecast will be issued by the National Hurricane Center at 10am.
