Tropical Storm Arthur is making a move more toward the north this morning, but the intensity hasn't changed since last night. Winds are still around 60mph. As of the 10am advisory, Tropical Storm Arthur was near 29.1N and 79.1W or about 105 miles east of Cape Canaveral, Florida. It is moving toward the north at 7 mph with a central pressure of 29.44 inches.
The forecast brings Arthur near the South Carolina coast tomorrow with slow intensification. Arthur could be a hurricane as early as Thursday afternoon. A tropical storm watch is in effect along the South Carolina coast. A tropical storm warning is now in effect for much of the North Carolina coast up to the Virginia border. A hurricane watch overlays part of the tropical storm warning area.
The storm is expected to clip the east coast from North Carolina to near the New England coastline before moving over eastern Canada and into the Atlantic later this weekend.
