Arrest in Dec. shooting that hit 9-year-old boy

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans police have booked a 38-year-old man in a shooting that injured a 9-year-old boy in December.
Officer Frank Robinson says witnesses identified Aaron Sleeper as the man who shot at a passing vehicle and hit a boy who was playing nearby on Dec. 18. He says Sleeper was booked Tuesday with aggravated battery.
Robinson says Sleeper has served time for negligent homicide and been arrested on a number of drug charges and other charges including intimidation.
The boy was shot in the back. Robinson says he's doing fine.
He was one of two children shot while playing in different neighborhoods on Dec. 18. A 23-month-old girl was hit in the head and killed when a 19-year-old ran into a courtyard full of children while gunmen shot at him.
