The Town of Arnaudville has issued a boil water advisory due to a water well control problem causing a loss of pressure in the entire water supply system. The water produced by the water system is of questionable microbiological quality because of the low pressure.
The boil advisory is effective as of 9:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, for the entire water system. The advisory is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Arnaudville.
It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a tolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.
The Town of Arnaudville will rescind the boil advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals - Office of Public Health that samples collected from the water supply system have shown the water to be safe.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding the time and days please contact the Town of Arnaudville at (337) 754-5911.
