There were several shootings in Abbeville Thursday night where one victim was shot and then arrested becasue of parole violation police say. The Abbeville Police Department is asking the public for any information on the three shootings that started around 7 p.m.
Police received the first complaint of gun shots in the 1600 Block of Martin Luther King Drive, but were unable to locate any evidence of a shooting, according to police.
The second shooting comlaint came from Tiki's Lounge on South Miles Street. APD and Acadian Ambulance responded and found Deonzae Lee with a single gunshot wound to the right forearm police say. Lee was transported to Abbeville General Hospital treated and treated for his wound.
According to police, while officers were investigating the second shooting at Tiki's Lounge, a third shooting at 1101 Green Street was reported. Police responded to the residense and found bullet holes in a vehicle parked in the carport of the residense and several bullet casing.
According to police, Lee stated he confronted the suspects in the first shooting when one of them began to shoot at him. Lee stated he took off running when one of the rounds hit him in the arm. Lee allegedly did not know the suspects and did not want to file any charges, according to police.
Lee was treated for the gunshot wound and while waiting for his release, officers learned of a warrant for his arrest from the Department of Corrections for a parole violation. Lee was arrested on the warrant and brought to the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center.
