Andy Burrell joined the KATC Sports team in August 2011. Andy has had a passion for sports journalism since he was a young boy growing up in Fort Worth,Texas. Andy played football at Texas Christian University where he was part of 4 bowl victories. As a strong safety for the Horned Frogs Andy was part of the leadership council his senior year.

Andy studied broadcast journalism and interned with CBS 11 in Dallas,TX. For the last year, Andy has worked as a personal assistant for Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin. Also doing some ESPN Dallas radio in that time.

Andy is thrilled to be part of the KATC team and looks forward to covering all of the explosive talent in the Acadiana area.
