An Evening of Music with Joseph Aymond III

The Historic Delta Grand Theatre is proud to present I'LL FLY AWAY, a powerful evening of classic hymns and spiritual standards with local musician Joseph Aymond III.

I'LL FLY AWAY is the recent release by saxophonist Joseph Aymond III, and this very special one night only concert will feature songs from the new release. The evening will feature classic hymns that have been updated and given new arrangements.

"These are hymns that I've grown up with, and they mean more to me as I've grown older," said Aymond. "The new arrangements speak to the modern generation, but they will still remind you of the precious message they were written to convey."

I'LL FLY AWAY will not only give audiences a chance to appreciate the musical talent of Aymond (whose "A Christmas Gift" concert was a hit for the Delta Grand in 2012), but it will also offer an inspiring, uplifting evening of sung hymns and music on soprano, alto and tenor saxophone.

Joe Aymond, III was born and raised in Port Barre, LA and graduated from Port Barre High School in 1998. Joe was exposed to music early on by his father, Joseph Aymond, Jr. Joe began playing saxophone in the school band in 5th grade. He also began to learn several different instruments as he moved through high school. Joe and four friends formed a band called Xtreme Faith. Under the management of Chris Burney, the band traveled the south leading worship for youth retreats, youth camps, and youth services for over 3 years. Joe moved to DeRidder in 2000. For a year and a half, he traveled the country leading worship and ministering. Joe was invited to the Grace Church staff in 2001 and began serving as youth pastor.

The Historic Delta Grand Theatre presents ILL FLY AWAY: An Evening of Music with Joseph Aymond III on September 6, 2013 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the one night only event are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at www.deltagrandtheatre.com or by phone at 407-1806.
