BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Whether there will be any changes to the LSU football coaching staff after this season will be totally up to Les Miles.
Athletic Director Joe Alleva emphasized that on Monday.
After an hour-long meeting with the sixth-year coach, Alleva said he and Miles did not discuss any staff changes.
There has been speculation that offensive coordinator Gary Crowton may not return. Crowton is in the final year of a three-year contract that pays him a base salary of $400,000.
The Tigers head into their bowl game last in the Southeastern Conference in passing offense (155.4 yards per game), last in touchdown passes (7) and 11th in total offense (332.6 yards per game).
"Anything to do with the coaching staff, that's entirely Les' call," Alleva said. "Those things are Les' decision."
"He has to feel comfortable with his coaches and their coaching style," Alleva said. "I would never mandate to a coach who his assistants should or shouldn't be."
