About $60 million worth of marine vessels and equipment are going on the auction block, including barges used to house BP oil spill cleanup crews.
Henderson Auctions sales manager Lloyd Henderson says the event at the Petroleum Club of Morgan City is the largest marine auction the company has ever handled.
Wednesday's auction of support equipment ranges from six sets of bunk beds to a 15-ton crane suitable for rough terrain. It was originally scheduled at an old shipyard in Gibson. Henderson's website says it was moved indoors because of bad weather, heat and humidity.
On Thursday, barges, vessels and other offsite marine items at locations from Texas to Florida will be auctioned as well as the Crown Casino riverboat in Lake Charles.
