Four accidents in Lafayette Parish have left 6 people dead and it all happened in a 24 hour period.
It started Friday morning at 2:20 in Carencro.
Police arrived on the scene in the 3300 block of University Ave.
Adrunk driver struck and killed a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
Then, 15 minutes later an accident in the 1500 block of Ambassador Caffery left 2 others dead.
Police had just been called about a drunk disturbance at a nearby convenience store involving the driver.
Then, Friday night police were called to the 2400 block of West Congress.
A car leaving a parking lot drove into the path of a motorcycle, killing the woman.
The bloodshed continued Saturday morning at 1:00.
This time, 2 more dead in the 1700 block of Eraste Landry Rd.
Police say the driver of the truck lost control and slammed into a guard rail splitting the cab from the frame.
"Whether it's alcohol, whether it's speed, whether it's someone being inattentive, those are all things people need to keep in mind when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle," Says Lafayette Police representative CPL. Paul Mounton.
Mouton also says with people coming in for the Christmas holiday, they will be increasing patrols.
