Four people are behind bars accused of criminal damage in several Louisiana and Texas towns.
Tuesday night, Dustin Jeane, 29, Kirstyn Jeane, 21, Angela Lopez, 37, and Margie Williams, 34, were arrested by DeRidder Police after multiple businesses in DeRidder, Rosepine, Leesville, Oakdale, Oberlin, and Ville Platte reported damage. Windows and cars at the businesses were shot by marbles and fishing sinkers by a sling shot.
DeRidder detectives used surveillance video to identify the vehicle involved and the occupants. Police located the suspects at a car wash in DeRidder. Police identified the individuals as the suspects. Two slingshots and large quantities of marbles and fishing weights were located in the vehicle, according to police.
After further investigation, detectives also located evidence of a multi-state theft operation that involved several retail stores, according to police. Large quantities of receipts were allegedly found in the vehicle from both Texas and Louisiana stores along with empty shopping bags.
According to police, the suspects would shoplift items from these stores and used old discarded receipts to obtain cash.
All four would were booked into the BPSO jail on charges of felony criminal damage to property, and conspiracy to commit criminal damage to property.
