The Lafayette Parish School Board will continue its work to close its $23.5M budget shortfall in three more meetings scheduled over the next week.
The board spent more than 12 hours in two meetings last week to cut about $913,000 from its budget. The fiscal year began today, and the school system is operating without a budget until one is balanced and approved.
The next budget meetings will be held tomorrow immediately following the regular school board meeting that begins at 5:30 p.m., 5 p.m. Thursday and 5 p.m. Tuesday.
