2 Arrested, 1 Wanted in Iberia Parish Attempted Armed Robbery

Two Iberia teens are in jail and one is still missing in an attempted robbery case.

On Sunday, May 25 at 5:15 p.m., deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 300 Parkview Drive, New Iberia City Park, concerning reports of a disturbance.

During the investigation, it was discovered that a male victim was allegedly assaulted and almost robbed by 3 other males.

The victim says he was approached by the suspects because they asked to use his cell phone. When he refused the suspects allegedly assaulted him and one brandished a hand gun. They then got away on foot.

A description of the suspects given by the victim resulted in the pursuit and arrest of one of the suspects, Bryson Davis, 17 of New Iberia. Davis was charged with Attempted Armed Robbery, Simple Battery and Resisting an Officer by Flight.

The second suspect, Jakil Sophus, 17 of New Iberia, was charged with Attempted Armed Robbery and Simple Battery. Sophus was arrested without incident at his residence.

The Iberia Parish deputies are still searching for a third suspect in the case. If you have any information contact the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office.
